ต้น: ไม้ยืนต้นขนาดกลาง สูงประมาณ 5 เมตร แตกกิ่งก้านสาขาออกเป็นทรงพุ่มแน่น ใบ: ใบเป็นใบประกอบรูปฝ่ามือ เรียงสลับ มีใบย่อยแตกออกจากก้านใบที่จุดเดียวกันจำนวน 7-11 ใบ ใบย่อยรูปไข่กลับ กว้าง 4-6 เซนติเมตร ยาว 4.5-11 เซนติเมตร ปลายใบมน โคนใบสอบ ขอบใบเรียบ ผิวใบด้านบนสีเขียวเข้ม ผิวเกลี้ยงเป็นมัน ก้านใบย่อยสีเขียวอ่อนดอก: สีชมพู ออกเป็นช่อแบบช่อซี่ร่มเชิงประกอบที่ปลายกิ่ง ลักษณะคล้ายหนวดของหมึก ดอกย่อยมีขนาดเล็ก ออกดอกเดือนมีนาคม – พฤษภาคม ผล: ผลสด มีเมล็ดเดียว ลักษณะแข็งมีสีดำ
